Students worked in pairs to create double bubble maps. They talked about ways they were the same and different. We found out a lot of information about each other. Family members, pets, and favorit
We have been working to build classroom community during this first week of school. The students enjoyed playing a game called "Cross the River." The students were on three person teams and given 2 newspaper "stones." They had to work together to decide how to use the stones to cross the river. Lots of great teamwork and fun!
Our class has received two grants through the Donors Choose program. Teachers can post project ideas and donors across the country give money to fund the project. Our class will be enjoying a new set of Froggy books and multicultural art materials to start off the new year. Check out the funded projects below!

I taught second grade for many years before teaching third grade for the last four years. I was able to meet many of my new students at Friday's Open House. I am looking forward to a terrific year. Keep your eyes on this blog. After we settle in, I'll be teaching the second graders to create their own blog entries. Let's Get Hopping! Mrs. Park
