Thomas created this great figure for his Little Reader project homework. Check out the details in his clay figure!
We kicked off our sound unit by exploring how to change the pitch and volume of a string instrument. More experiments are in store! The students explore, talk, and then write about their thinking in their science journals! On October 24, our second graders traveled to Glen Hilton Park for an Outdoor Classroom. The day was filled with math, science, literacy, and art activities related to nature and life cycles. Special thanks to Steven's mom and Tristan's dad for their help during our trip. Tristan's dad also shared many of the photos in this slideshow! We had a tornado warning. To keep us safe, we went in the hallways and crouched in our "heads covered" position. Khaoziong made sure that even our class mascot, Froggy, was being safe!
Our class performed Spiderella for the Terrific Kids program on September 25. The students worked hard to learn their lines, decided on the costumes and scenery we would need, and worked together through an inside recess time to create everything. What a wonderful performance! What wonderful students! |
